Simply - Spain, Devon, Cornwall and North Wales

For the first 3 weeks of the training you will be based in Spain for the climbing and kayaking phase, after that the programme runs from our centre in Devon. From here we are perfectly placed to access the rugged moorland of Dartmoor to learn navigation skills. The course will also take us into north Wales where you will experience higher and harsher environments and where you will receive training for the Moutain Leader award.  We will be paddling rivers across the region including the rivers Dart and Tamar.

Why Spain?

The 3 weeks in Spain is of course an amazing experience, its fun, its hot, the climbing is superb and the kayaking a dream. However its not simply a jolly, its vital part of the course which is like a spring board for students skills in climbing and kayaking. The warm weather and location of sea and crags means that students get an even more intensive amount of time on the rock and in a boat, without battling the elements. The feedback from our students over the last couple of years has been to emphasise to applicants how crucial this phase of the course is to their progression....so here we are telling you!
