Week 7 - Level 1 Coach in Paddlesport
Greg's Diary 3 days of Level 1 training this week - who knew throwing a bag could be so difficult? Gavin and Lee came in to tecah us how to rescue ourselves and each other...much of the day spent in the water, nice to learn some new techniques - there are so many ways to get in and out of a boat!! Now to stop capsizing. We got to try lots of different types of boat too..Who knew there could be such a variety? The play boat and sea kayak were the favourites. Had a play in the surf at Widemouth Bay later in the week...a totally different proposition when the water is moving around you. Fantastic fun. Finished the week with some climbing at the very windy Sheep Tor, practising gear placement...Trad climbing beginning to make sense. BUT our climbing technique is sufferring whilst we spend time on the climb placing the gear...it will return... we hope. |
