Week 12 - Rope work skills and coaching skills
This week had a focus on rope work. Students coninued to look at how to use ropes safely when working with novices in both climbing situations and when walking on steep ground.
With canoe sessions being run every weekend and through the week for the public our students coaching skills have continued to develop.

One way of spotting a good climber is to see if they can coil a rope neatly and efficiently. If this is something you rarely do you will quickly get yourself in knots! |

With rope work on the agenda this week we had a look at short roping techniques. |

Another area for good rope work is when setting up a top rope for novice climbers. |

A group of novice canoeists wait to be briefed about their canoe session. |

Our Students learn about the pros and cons of teaching from the bank. |

Helping people in and out of their boats can reassure those who are nervous. |
