Week 5 - Introducing canoeing and kayaking
After all the climbing the group has done it was really refreshing to get on the water and into our boats. We had a perfect day for introducing canoeing and kayaking down at the bottom of the Tamar Estuary at Saltash.

The group split so that they had a day each in both kinds of boat. The new 2 star syllabus requires paddlers to be competent in more than one kind of boat giving them a great platform from which they can specialise at a later date. It also ensures that as coaches they are able to teach a range of paddle sport disciplines.

There was also time for a bit more climbing this week with the whole group now leading simple climbs and building their experience towards the Single Pitch Award.
