Week 6 - Capsize and Rescues
This weeks highlights included some capsize and rescue training in deep water. A key feature of the B.C.U 2 star award is to be able to capsize both canoe and kayak in a safe and controlled way, students must then learn how to rescue each other in deep but protected water.

The water is cold even with wetsuits on and very quickly people find that they as they loose body heat their muscles seem even slower to respond. It is critical to act quickly and decisively and the best way to to this is to practice and gain a good technique.
