Week 13 - White Water
The group now solid 2star paddlers needed more. To progress and gain further experience white water was the next stage. The cold weather gave way to the atlantic fronts and the rain came. The timing could not have been better.

A group photo just prior to the launch into what for all the group was the unknown. Despite the instructors brief and support getting on to moving water for the first time is quite metally challenging. |

Tandem Canoeing on the rapids. The paddlers must work together to enable the boat to descend the rapid under control |

A great picture of things going slightly of the rails. Swimming down a rapid is something that goes with running white water. There are techniques to minimize the hazards which the group were made aware of. |

A bad edge after running the weir results in a swim for William. |

Practising swimming down the rapids |

Early on in the trip a session on throwlines was delivered so the group were aware of what to do should a line be thrown at them. Quite useful as later in the trip the photographer did just that for a swimmer. |
