Week 5 - Canoe Expedition on the river Wye
What a fantastic trip and a great way to introduce camp skills and expedition skills. The group started at Glasbury and spent the next 3 days exploring the wye valley by canoe. The water levels were a little high after all the rain we'd had, so the flow was quite fast and the water quite powerful. The students paddled solo, working hard on the J stroke, stern and bow rudders amongst other things. |

The winds were very strong over the 3 days, the canoes made good shelters during the day and at night for those who bivvied rather than camped. |
